Garage Series
In the summer of 2004 I built a new garage. I live in the city, so my standards of a “big” garage are very different than those in the suburbs. My garage is just a standard two–car garage with a 6/12 pitch roof, but since most of the neighbors have original vintage garages, it did not look so standard. After constructing and erecting two walls, the scale of my new garage started to become apparent. I even considered making the walls shorter so that it would not be so tall, but then went ahead and left it in all of its enormous glory. These paintings are the view from the roof, a view I came to know quite well as I hammered in each nail.
